Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville exists to champion the appreciation, relevance, and expression of art and culture in northeast Florida, acting as collaborators, grant-makers and advocates for the arts and culture sector.
City of Jacksonville is a rapidly growing metropolis in Northeast Florida, ideally located on the banks of the mighty St. Johns River and bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, with more than 850,000 residents. Mayor Lenny Curry and a nineteen-member City Council lead our local government. Friends of Hemming Park and the City of Jacksonville manage Hemming Park through a contractual agreement:
Downtown Vision, Inc. (“DVI”) is the downtown improvement district for Jacksonville and works to promote a healthy and vibrant urban core. DVI hosts events including Art Walk an event that brings thousands of visitors downtown on the first Wednesday of every month.
Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce is a business membership organization dedicated to driving Northeast Florida economic growth. Connecting businesses and opportunities, the Chamber works to make Northeast Florida the best place to work, live, and play.
Jacksonville Public Library is anchored by the 300,000 square foot Main Library adjacent to Hemming Park. Twenty regional, community and neighborhood branch libraries provide a variety of programming including a Talking Books Library and an active adult literacy program.
Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville (MOCA), a cultural institute of the University of North Florida, serves the community and its visitors through exhibitions, collections, educational programs, and publications designed to enhance an understanding and appreciation of modern and contemporary art with particular emphasis on works created from 1960 to the present.
