The nonprofit organization Friends of Hemming Park is proud to host the following programs and events in Hemming Park located at 135 W. Monroe Street in the center of Downtown Jacksonville. The programs and events listed below are free and open to the public, unless otherwise noted.

ART FUSION WITH MOCA JACKSONVILLE
Kids are invited to participate in a hands-on art activity with MOCA Jacksonville in the park and then enjoy free admission to the museum by showing their artwork. This month, create a bubble painting inspired by Sam Francis’ work from “In Living Color.”

TEAM RWB BOOTCAMP
Join veteran-based Team Red, White & Blue for a free, military style training exercise boot camp. All skill levels are welcome. The group will meet in again in Hemming Park on Sunday, May 15 at the same time.

THE SALVATION ARMY’S 125TH ANNIVERSARY
In celebration of The Salvation Army’s 125th anniversary of services in Jacksonville, join them in Hemming Park for a free concert by the Ancient City Brass, free doughnuts, and free coffee!

FIRST WEDNESDAY ART WALK
United We Rock! Join United Way of Northeast Florida at Art Walk for a community concert in Hemming Park including The Old Patróns and The Band Be Easy. HEARTBEAT OF THE BOLD CITY
Heartbeat of the Bold City speaker series presents publisher and community builder, Jared Rypkema, founder of Bridge Eight Literary Magazine. Come hear Jared speak about “How Story Moves Us All” while you enjoy music by Katie Grace Helow, as well as beer, wine, and food truck fare.

“DEAR PRUDENCE” BOOK SIGNING
Prudence Farrow Bruns, muse behind The Beatles’ classic song, will discuss her memoir “Dear Prudence: The Story Behind the Song” and sign copies of her book. DCPS READING EXTRAVAGANZA
Hosted by Duval County Public Schools, the 14th Annual Reading Extravaganza (formerly P.E.P. Rally) will celebrate literacy, recognize students for reading achievements and feature fun-filled activities, local celebrities reading children’s books, student performances and a student-run food truck.

KRUX KICKFLIP CHALLENGE

Join North Florida Bicycle Club in celebrating Bike to Work Day by promoting bike commuting, safety and access.
