Celebrate the Holiday Season with a Free Weekly Concert Series, Holiday Market and more!

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., November 30, 2017 – Friends of Hemming Park is proud to host the following programs and events in Hemming Park located at 135 W. Monroe Street in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville. All activities listed below are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

Monday – Friday: Food Trucks & Live Music, 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Monday – Sunday: Hemming Park Kids Zone, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

SPECIAL EVENTS

SAT, DECEMBER 2
6th Annual Jax Truckies Food Truck Championship, 12 – 4 p.m.

Presented by Community First Credit Union of Florida, the Jax Truckies Food Truck Championship promises to be the biggest championship yet with plenty of space for the trucks to compete for the titles of Best BBQ, Best Burger, Best Taco, Best Sandwich, Best Healthy, Best Global Cuisine, Best Sweet, Most Innovative, and People’s Choice. Come out to vote for your favorites and support The Donna Foundation and Hope at Hand. Along with the fabulous food, enjoy live music local favorites The Groove Coalition, craft beer from Bold City Brewery and Engine 5 Co. Brewing, and an expanded Kids Zone.

WED, DECEMBER 6
First Wednesday Art Walk, 5 – 9 p.m.

Bring the entire family to DTJax and celebrate the holidays in the Spirit of Giving Art Walk! Get the perfect gift for your loved one while exploring over 60+ participating businesses, food trucks, art galleries, local artists and more. Kick off the holiday season in the heart of Jacksonville. Enjoy live performances by Duly Noted, Scott Jones School of Dance, Players by the Sea and Groove Coalition on the Hemming Park Main Stage beginning at 5 p.m., local artist exhibits, and delicious food trucks. Other venues stretch across Downtown Jacksonville’s core and include Hemming Park, galleries, museums, cultural and educational venues, restaurants and bars, Downtown businesses, food trucks, special performances and more on Laura Street and throughout the 15+ blocks of Art Walk. THURS, DECEMBER 14
Totally Lit Hanukkah Party, 5 – 7 p.m.

Join Hemming Park, Jacksonville Public Library, and AVANT MUSIC for an introduction to Hanukkah and its related traditions. We’ll enjoy music by Cantor Jesse Holzer and Koltrain, story time and crafts with JPL, dreidel games, a menorah lighting and more. And yes, there will be doughnuts! This event is free and open to the public and is the first in a year-long series of Hemming Park events designed to celebrate the diverse cultures of Jacksonville

THURS, DECEMBER 21
Henry’s Holiday Yappy Hour, 5 – 7 p.m.

Join us at the Hemming Park Holiday Market for a dog-friendly happy hour! Meet Henry, Hemming Park’s new dog ambassador. Enjoy live music, holiday libations, shopping, and treats from Bark Downtown.

HEMMING PARK HOLIDAY MARKET
December 18 through 22, 11:00 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Shop local during the Hemming Park Holiday Market, 11 am to 6 pm on December 18th through December 22nd. Enjoy music, food trucks, holiday decor and artisan goods in the heart of Jacksonville. Vendors are encouraged to contact christina@hemmingpark.org for information about vending.

FRIDAYS IN DECEMBER
TGIF Music Series, 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Hemming Park is a great place to enjoy lunch throughout the work week, with food trucks and music every day. During December we will celebrate the holiday season with special Friday performances by some of Jacksonville’s favorite local bands. Bring a bag lunch, grab a bite from one of our food trucks or your favorite downtown restaurant and enjoy a free concert to get your weekend started. Here’s the full lineup for December:
