February 2019 Events in Hemming Park

Family-friendly  entertainment, food trucks, live music and much more, all year long

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., February 5, 2019 – Friends of Hemming Park is proud to host the following programs and events in Hemming Park, located at 135 W. Monroe Street in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville. All activities listed below are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

NEW IN FEBRUARY!

Tuesday Farmers Market with Berry Good Farms – February 19 – 10:30 am until 1 pm

Friends of Hemming Park is delighted to announce our partnership with Berry Good Farms, a division of North Florida School of Special Education.   Berry Good Farms brings their mobile market, featuring fresh produce grown by students, to Downtown Jax on the 1st, 3rd & 5th Tuesday of every month.

SPECIAL EVENTS

SAT, FEBRUARY 6

ArtWalk Beer Garden with Wicked Barley,  5 – 9 p.m.

In 2019 Friends of Hemming Park has resolved to drink local!  We’ll feature a different local brewery in each of our ArtWalk beer gardens, starting with Wicked Barley Brewing Company in February.  We’ll finish the year with our Jax Beer Society / Jax Beer Week event on November 6th. Join us on the first Wednesday of the month, next to Hemming Park’s main stage,  from 5 pm to 9 pm. Email events@hemmingpark.org for more information.

Art Walk is presented by Downtown Vision on the first Wednesday of every month from 5 to 9 p.m., rain or shine. More than 60 Art Walk venues stretch across Downtown Jacksonville’s core and include galleries, museums, cultural and educational venues, restaurants and bars, Downtown businesses and more.  Hemming Park serves as ArtWalk headquarters and hosts a variety of artists and live performances each and every month.

SAT,  FEBRUARY 23

Get Down(town)!  3 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Don’t miss Hemming Park’s second annual Get Down(town)!, an all-day family-friendly party celebrating African American culture. Enjoy dance performances & music by Mama Blue, Brittany Wescott, Kim Reteguiz, Niki Dawson, MJbaker and Mia Salter. Artists, food trucks, adult beverages and much more.

FRIDAYS IN FEBRUARY

TGIF Music Series, 11:30 a.m.  – 2 p.m.

Hemming Park is a great place to enjoy lunch throughout the work week, with food trucks and music every day. On Fridays we feature performances by some of Jacksonville’s favorite local bands. Bring a bag lunch, grab a bite from one of our food trucks or your favorite downtown restaurant and enjoy a free concert to get your weekend started. Here’s the full lineup for February:

WEEKLY PROGRAMMING

Monday, Wednesday and Friday: Live Music, 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Monday – Friday: Food Trucks on the Promenade:  11 a.m. – 2 p.m

Monday – Sunday: Hemming Park Kids Zone, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Hemming Park Walking Club

Join us every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30 a.m. for a guided walk in downtown Jax, led by Friends of Hemming Park staff. We meet near the “Opposing Forces” sculpture at the corner of Monroe and Laura Streets. Our route changes daily, and we will visit a variety of Jacksonville landmarks during this fun, free, twice-weekly event. For more information click here.
