Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Friends of Hemming Park
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.﹣ August 29, 2019 – Friends of Hemming Park is proud to host events in Hemming Park located at 135 W. Monroe Street in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville. All activities listed below are free and open to the public.
WEEKLY PROGRAMMING
Monday – Friday: Food Trucks and music at Charlie’s Café, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Monday – Sunday: Hemming Park Kids Zone, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
SPECIAL EVENTS
ArtWalk Beer Garden with Ancient City Brewing
Wednesday, September 4 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
In 2019 Hemming Park has resolved to drink local!
Join us on the first Wednesday of the month, from 5 pm to 9 pm, when we’ll feature a different local brewery in each of our monthly ArtWalk beer gardens. Our September guest brewery is Ancient City Brewing from St. Augustine.
ArtWalk is presented by Downtown Vision on the first Wednesday of every month, rain or shine. More than 60 ArtWalk venues stretch across Downtown Jacksonville’s core and include galleries, museums, businesses and more. Hemming Park serves as ArtWalk headquarters and hosts a variety of artists and live performances every month.
Hispanic Heritage Celebration
Saturday, September 21 from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage in Hemming Park with an evening of music, dance, food and fun for the entire family presented by VyStar Credit Union, Florida Blue, Arlington Toyota and performances by Orchestra Fuego, CaribeGroove and Danzas Perujax; food trucks including Manny’s Cuban Food Truck, Latin Soul Grille Food Truck, El Agave Azul Jacksonville, GuanaBana Ice Pops and Dos Vatos Tacos; vendors, kids activities and more! A very limited number of VIP tickets, with access to the VIP tent, two drink tickets, air conditioned restrooms and latin dance lessons are available at 904tix.com.

Skyway Saturdays
Saturday, September 21 – Skyway runs from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Take a free ride on the Jacksonville Transit Authority SkyWay and visit MOCA Jacksonville, the Museum of Science and History and the Jacksonville Public Library before attending Hemming Park’s Hispanic Heritage Celebration.
Brazilian Day Jax
Sunday, September 8th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Celebrate Brazilian Independence day in Jacksonville with traditional music, food and drink!
WEEKDAY MUSIC
Friends of Hemming Park hosts live music from 11:30 to 2 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Wednesday music is sponsored by Jax Vision Care.
