Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with Friends of Hemming Park
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.﹣ August 31, 2018 – Friends of Hemming Park is proud to host events in Hemming Park, located at 135 W. Monroe Street in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville. All activities listed below are free and open to the public.
Every Wednesday: Live Music sponsored by Jax Vision Care, 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Monday – Friday: Food Trucks at Charlie’s Café, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Monday – Sunday: Hemming Park Kids Zone, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
NEW! FRIENDS OF HEMMING PARK AND JACKSONVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY COLLABORATE TO EXPAND WEDNESDAY MUSIC PROGRAMMING
Hemming Park’s popular Wednesday music programming, sponsored by Jax Vision Care, is now supported by Jacksonville Public Library’s “Lunch in the Lounge.”
On the second Wednesday of each month, JPL will host a performer inside its main branch on Laura Street with music streamed into the park. Food trucks will serve in the park as always, but guests will have the option of enjoying lunch in the park or inside the library. In the event of inclement weather, the library lounge will open for lunch performances on any other Wednesday. Our musicians perform from 11:30 to 2:00.

Dog Days of Summer (Pet Walk) Presented by Downtown Vision
Wednesday, September 5 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Celebrate your favorite animal friends in Hemming Park! Enter the Best Dressed Pet Competition, sponsored by Bark Downtown. Prizes will be awarded and the winner announced at 7:30 p.m. Don’t miss the Kids Zone near the Main Stage, with activities provided by My Gym and a performance by magician Robert Sanderson. Hispanic Heritage Celebration
Saturday, September 15 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage in Hemming Park with an evening of music, dance, food and fun for the entire family presented by VyStar Credit Union! LPT, Kim Reteguiz and the Black Cat Bones and Goliath Flores will help us throw the best party of the summer. Dance performances by Peruanos En Jacksonville and food trucks including Latin Soul Grille Food Truck, Manny’s Cuban Food Truck, Chubby Burrito, First Coast Snowie Ice and Delish Kebabs Catering and Food Truck. Vendors, kids activities and more!
