Celebrate Spring and Jazz Fest with Friends of Hemming Park!
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., May 1, 2018 – Friends of Hemming Park is proud to host the following programs and events in Hemming Park, located at 135 W. Monroe Street in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville. All activities listed below are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

Jacksonville Art Walk
Wednesday, May 2nd, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Dozens of local artists display their work in Hemming Park and ensembles of the Jacksonville Symphony perform throughout the evening at MOCA, the Main Library, and the Candy Apple Cafe. The Great Fire of 1901
Thursday, May 3rd, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hemming Park played an important role both during and in the aftermath of the Great Fire of 1901. Join us in the Park on the 117th anniversary of the fire when we partner with the Jacksonville Public Library to share information about that legendary event.

Jazz Month Concert Series during TGIFridays in Hemming Park
Fridays, May 4th, 11th and 18th; 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Warm up for the Jacksonville Jazz Festival with Hemming Park’s Friday Jazz Concert Series! Join us for lunch in the park and live jazz every Friday in May. Hemming Park hosts the “Groovin’ Stage” during the Jacksonville Jazz Festival on Memorial Day weekend. Founded in 1981, the Jazz Fest has become one of the largest outdoor events in the country, offering a fun and vibrant street festival atmosphere. The three-day-long festival features a number of award-winning artists including Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Sheila E., The Bad Plus, Euge Groove, The Pete Escovedo Orchestra with special guests Jimmy Bosch and Chembo Corneil, Ulysses Owens, Jr. Trio, The 4 Korners, Grace Kelly, Jane Bunnett & Maqueque and Lohai.
