Summertime Fun with Friends of Hemming Park

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., May 31, 2018 – Friends of Hemming Park is proud to host the following programs and events in Hemming Park located at 135 West Monroe Street in the heart of downtown Jacksonville. All activities listed below are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

WEEKLY PROGRAMMING

MondayWednesday and Friday: Live Music, 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.   Wednesday Live Music sponsored by Jax Vision Care

Monday – Friday: Food Trucks at Charlie’s Café, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Monday – Sunday: Hemming Park Kids Zone, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

 

SPECIAL EVENTS

First Wednesday Art Walk

Wednesday, June 6th, 5 pm to 9 pm

Visit Hemming Park where Firewater Tent Revival will perform at 6 p.m.  Experience Yoga @ Art Walk, taught by Elaina Collins at 6 and 7 p.m. Enjoy activities by MyGym Jacksonville, face painting by Art by Aimes and meet children’s author Haley Marguerite.

Summer Concert:  The Hunts with Strangerwolf and Hadley Parrish-Cotton

Friday, June 8th, 5 pm to 9 pm

Join Friends of Hemming Park for a free, family friendly event featuring a performance by The Hunts, a nationally touring and highly acclaimed indie-alternative-folk band comprised of seven brothers and sisters. Hadley Parrish-Cotton opens at 5, followed by Strangerwolf at 6. Don’t miss food trucks including Murray Hillbilly, PIE95 PIZZA and Chaunie’s Coffee & Such; craft beer and cocktails; and activities in the kids zone.

 

National Selfie Day with Kerry Speckman

Thursday, June 21st, 11 am to 2 pm

Thursday, June 21 is National Selfie Day and who better to oversee the proceedings than the Official Selfie Queen of Jacksonville, Kerry Speckman! Kerry will arrive at Hemming Park in style via the Jax Swagger Wagon, where she will attempt to set a new world selfie record. Stay tuned for info on how you can be PART of the record. The lunchtime event features food trucks and live music—with proceeds benefiting ‘I Still Matter’ and Where Is The Sunshine, local mental health awareness non-profits collaborating on the Studio:Jax concept. No Island Left Behind Presented by One Caribbean 

Saturday, June 23rd, 2 pm to 10 pm

This event is sponsored by Harold’s Meat Market, Caribbean Sunrise, WYMM 96.5 and 1530 AM. Performing artists include Etana, NDKA and more with music by DJ Lion Heart, Selectah Ajah, Mixx Master Prince, DJ Blaow and friends. FRIDAYS IN JUNE

TGIF Music Series, 11:30 a.m.  – 2 p.m.

Hemming Park is a great place to enjoy lunch throughout the work week, with food trucks and music every day. On Fridays we feature performances by some of Jacksonville’s favorite local bands. Bring a bag lunch, grab a bite from one of our food trucks or your favorite downtown restaurant and enjoy a free concert to get your weekend started. Here’s the full lineup for June:
