Hemming Park Announces 2018 Holiday Events

4th Annual Holidays in Hemming on December 8; “Totally Lit” Hanukkah Party returns on December 6

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., November 1, 2018 – Friends of Hemming Park is proud to host the following programs and events in Hemming Park located at 135 W. Monroe Street in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville. All activities listed below are free and open to the public unless otherwise noted.

WEEKLY PROGRAMMING

Food Trucks, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. (Monday through Friday)

Live Music, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. (Mon., Wed., Fri.)

Kids Zone, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

                            

SPECIAL EVENTS

WED, NOVEMBER 7

First Wednesday Art Walk, 5 – 9 p.m.

Art Walk is produced by Downtown Vision, with support from Friends of Hemming Park,  on the first Wednesday of every month from 5 – 9 p.m., rain or shine. This month’s theme is “Salute to Service”:  visit Hemming Park to enjoy a performance by the Navy Band Southeast from 5:00 to 8:30 pm while local breweries celebrate Jax Beer Week with a variety of craft beverages available for purchase. FRI, NOVEMBER 9

“Lost in the Sauce” –  local music showcase featuring Stank Sauce –  5 – 10 p.m.

Stank Sauce and Friends of Hemming Park present “Lost in the Sauce”, a live music showcase on Friday, November 9th. Food, adult beverages, and good vibes. Dress to impress! Stank Sauce will be recording live video of this FREE event featuring performances by Geexella, Niki Dawson and T.W.A.N.

 

WED, DECEMBER 5

First Wednesday Art Walk, 5 – 9 p.m.

Bring the entire family to DTJax and celebrate the holidays at the Spirit of Giving Art Walk!  Kick off the holiday season in the heart of Jacksonville and find the perfect gift for your loved one while exploring over 60+ participating businesses.  Enjoy live music, local artist exhibits, and delicious food trucks. Don’t miss the Mayor’s annual tree lighting in Hemming Park, where we’ll be serving holiday-themed treats and beverages. More details at iloveartwalk.com.

 

THURS, DECEMBER 6

Hemming Park’s Second Annual “Totally Lit Hanukkah Party”, 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm

Join Hemming Park and the Jacksonville Public Library for our annual celebration of Hanukkah and its related traditions. We’ll enjoy live music, storytelling, and crafts; dreidel games, a menorah lighting and more.  Traditional foods and beverages available for purchase. SAT, DECEMBER 8

Holidays in Hemming

Live Music, Holiday Market and Food Truck Rally, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Hemming Park and Jax Food Truck Food Court team up for a holiday market and food truck rally sponsored by Community First Credit Union! Shop with local artisans and dine with the best of Jacksonville’s food trucks; enjoy festive music and seasonal beverages. Children’s activities; leashed pets are welcome.
